Who we are
Savitri is the materialization of the dream of uniting our artistic, spiritual and ecological awareness spheres.
We are artists, yoguis and Nature lovers. We are dedicated to personal transformation through the act of creating, the practice of yoga, and working with our hands in the earth.
Our original plays are inspired by concerns about environmental and gender issues, in a quest for evolution and consciousness through humor and art.
Our Yoga practice is our most purified means to refine deep awareness of body alignment and observation of the mind, to make our body a better vehicle in service of life.
Our attitude towards our planet reflects care and respect for the earth. We live in the countryside, we consume responsibly, and we plant trees.
We laugh, sing, dance, swim, roll around in the grass, and give thanks.
Founder
Luisa Prías
She was born with a seed of rebellion within her, with a thirst to seek, with the clarity that the world is not as it is presented, but as we want to invent it. This is why she chose the path of Yoga and Art. It is clearly not the easiest one, but it is certainly the most beautiful one.
Luisa has been practicing theatre and Yoga since she was 16 years old. She has a very wide education in performing and body arts.
Her studies and research orientation are linked to the possibility of art as a way of transformation of the human being, and theatre as a vehicle of self-knowledge.
She has studied and participated in workshops in Colombia, Belgium, France, Spain and Italy with different groups and renowned teachers such as Fernando Montes, The Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards, Chiro Daimon, Jimi Slowiak and Jairo Cuesta, Beto Villada, Ann Gey Ping, Carina Bonan, among many others.
Between 2008 and 2009 Luisa did a year of education in the Lassad International School of Theatre in Brussels, Belgium.
In 2009 she did the Sivananda Teacher Training Program en Ustka, Poland.
Between 2010 and 2011 she did the Teacher Training Program from the Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Center in Arambol, India. She is currently doing the formation to be certified as a teacher in the Iyengar Yoga Method. She offers yoga Classes since 2010 in Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Morroco, Colombia, and Brasil. Between 2011 and 2012, she also did the Clown formations in the Bont’s International Clown School in Ibiza, Spain.
In 2014 she received the Master’s degree from the ISAC (Superior Institute for Corporal Arts) in the Royal Academy of Fine arts in Brussels, Belgium.
Between 2014 and 2015, she participated in the colombo-brasilian research group The Body of Organicity, directed by Gabriela Amado and Fernando Montes. Her background in Hatha Yoga has also nourished her theatrical journey.
She is now part of the project Clowning Lab Colombia with the NGO Narices en Red. This project consists in taking Clowning to regions of the country where there is very little cultural offer and who have suffered from the war.
In 2017 she decided to follow the dream she had held in her heart for a long time: to live in the countryside. Currently she is living in the rural area of Villa de Leyva, the place where she is developing Savitri Svadhyaya, a wonderful place for education, artistic creation, Yoga, healthy life, and harmony with Nature.
